Steam Rice/Parboiled Rice
Parboiled Rice, widely known as steam rice is a category that is quite unique as they are partially boiled with husk during the time of processing. This practice helps the rice hold more nutrients and makes it an option for people who take health seriously. Along with these health benefits, this has a very fluffy texture along with a mild nutty flavour which makes it a very apt option for preparations like biriyani, pulaos and other rice-based dishes.
Brown Rice
Brown rice is considered to be the richest in terms of nutrients and has several other health benefits as Brown rice is a whole grain rice with the inedible outer hull removed. This kind of rice sheds its outer hull or husk but the bran and germ layer remain on, constituting the brown or tan colour of rice. White rice is the same grain without the hull, the bran layer, and the cereal germ. The component composition of the brown rice is 70% water, 26% carbohydrates, 3% proteins and 1% fat. This makes it a viable option for everyone who needs a very marginalised amount of carbs and fats but don’t want to limit themselves to have rice in smaller proportions in their diets.
